Andrew Feinstein

Andrew Feinstein is from South-Africa. He is the Executive Director of Corruption Watch and an investigative writer, broadcaster and campaigner. 

Andrew was educated at King’s College Cambridge, the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Cape Town. He has also spent time at the London School of Economics as a participant in university’s Distinguished Visitors Programme. Impressively, Feinstein has lectured at universities all around the world including the New School, Harvard, Princeton, Cambridge, Oxford, UCT and the Free University Brussels. What is more, he was an ANC Member of Parliament in South Africa for over seven years where he served under Nelson Mandela, as well as on the Finance and Public Accounts Committees and as Deputy Chair of the country’s Audit Commission. Finally, a famous investigative writer served as Economic Advisor to Gauteng Premier, Tokyo Sexwale. At the moment he works at Corruption Watch – an NGO that details and exposes the impact of bribery and corruption on democracy, governance and development.

Andrew is the author of the critically-acclaimed “The Shadow World: Inside the Global Arms Trade” which reveals the corruption and malfeasance at the heart of the global arms business, both formal and illicit. He was named amongst the 100 most influential people in the world working in armed violence reduction. Along with two colleagues, he was voted South Africa’s anti-corruption hero of 2014.
