Elizabeth Wala
Elizabeth Wala is from Kenya. She is the Programme Director for Health Systems Strengthening at Amref Health Africa in Kenya.
Alongside of being Vice-chair at Kenya Healthcare Federation, she is also Co-chair at SDGs Kenya Forum. Elizabeth has more than 15 years of experience spanning the fields of health systems strengthening for universal health coverage, health care policy development, pharmaceutical medicine and clinical research. Director of Amref Health Africa is known and respected for program refinements and building credibility, as well as partnerships across cultures and with leading national and international private, public, and non-profit health sector stakeholders. She has participated in the development of key national and international policies and guidelines across many African countries. Apart from this, Wala has served as organization representative at national and international forums and conferences, technical working groups, and advisory boards.
Elizabeth holds a Master of Science in Infectious Diseases from the University of London (LSHTM), as well as Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nairobi (MBChB). On top of that a famous Kenyan activist has the Certificate in Economic Evaluation of Global Health from the University of Washington.
