Paul Conway
Paul Conway is from Canada. He is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Florida State University.
Conway’s interests revolve around three main topics: how people make moral dilemma judgments, the nature and operation of the moral self, and the role of morality in person perception. In particular, he applies a technique called ‘Process Dissociation’ to independently examine the role of harm-rejection versus outcome-maximization response tendencies in moral dilemmas. It is a technique that overturns much of the received wisdom in this field.
Paul Conway won the 2014 Dissertation Award from the Society for Experimental Social Psychology, the 2014 Governor General of Canada’s Gold Medal for Academic Excellence and the 2020 Rising Star Award from the Association for Psychological Science.
