Rutie Borthwick

Rutie Borthwick is a London-based Artist, educator and curator.

Rutie is a graduate of The Slade School of fine Art MFA where she was selected for the Inaugural Slade Print Fair Scholarship and the Adrian Carruthers Studio Award with ACME studios (2015). Borthwick works as a curator and educator at Gerald Moore Gallery, London where she runs creativity, wellbeing and art workshops.

Rutie Borthwick creates spaces which investigate safety and nurture through her immersive installations and her delicate paintings. Her work explores previously-unacknowledged personal histories within the physical body of the audience, reminding our somatic system of the preverbal emotions and desires we develop from birth and early childhood.
